John Kwaak
FOUNDER & MANAGING PARTNER
John founded Zero Infinity Partners in 2022 to provide capital and expertise to companies innovating in the global infrastructure space.
He previously served as Executive Director & Americas Head of Transportation and Logistics Investing at Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners. Prior to that, he worked for Fortress Investment Group in their infrastructure private equity division and in incubating New Fortress Energy (NYSE: NFE). He started his career as an investment banker at Evercore Partners in their Transportation & Infrastructure Group. Between college and business school, John served as First Lieutenant in the Republic of Korea Air Force.

INVESTMENT ASSOCIATE
Marlena contributes to ZIP’s investment activities, including market research, due diligence, and investment execution, while also supporting portfolio companies with operations and financial modeling.
Previously, Marlena served as an Investment Banking Analyst at Nomura Greentech where she has completed sustainable infrastructure and technology transactions in distributed generation, utility-scale solar, and recycling.

Badar Khan

Badar is a member of ZIP’s senior advisory board where he supports ZIP’s investing activities in the energy and power sectors. Badar is currently CEO of EVgo (NASDAQ: EVGO), a leader in EV charging. He previously served as President of National Grid USA, one of the largest investor-owned utilities in the world, and National Grid Ventures, where he oversaw the creation of National Grid Partners, the company’s VC and innovation arm. Previously Badar served as CEO of Direct Energy, a subsidiary of Centrica, a global energy company. Earlier in his career, Badar worked at Deloitte, KPMG, and Jaguar Cars. Badar currently serves as a Board Director at EVGo and CRH plc. He is a former Senior Advisor at Global Infrastructure Partners.
Badar has a degree in engineering from Brunel University in London and an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
Rob Knight

Rob is a member of ZIP’s Senior Advisory Board where he supports ZIP’s investing activities in the mobility and logistics sectors.
Rob previously served as CFO of Union Pacific Corporation, among the largest railroad businesses in the U.S. Over his four-decade career with the company, he led many initiatives that helped the company earn the highest market capitalization of any North American transportation company. Rob currently serves as a Board Director at Schneider Trucking, Canadian National, and Hyliion. Previously, he served as a Board Director at Ferromex Rail, TTX Railcar Pooling, and Carrix Port Terminal.
Rob has a B.A. in Business Administration from Kansas State University and an MBA from Southern Illinois University.
Chris Mann

Chris is a member of ZIP’s Senior Advisory Board where he supports ZIP’s business development, deal structuring, and infrastructure finance activities.
Chris is a Partner at Sullivan & Cromwell and leads the firm’s global infrastructure practice and its sovereign finance practice. A 30-year veteran of the firm, he has advised the world’s largest infrastructure investors, developers, strategics, pension funds and sovereign wealth funds on a broad range of PPP, project finance, M&A, and other structuring mandates. He is also a core member of the Firm’s Latin America team and is co-head of both its international trade & investment/CFIUS practice and its Africa practice.
Chris has an A.B. from Harvard College, an M.Phil. from Cambridge University, and a JD from Harvard Law School.
Bill Yun

Bill is a member of ZIP’s Senior Advisory Board where he supports ZIP’s business development and firm governance matters.
Bill previously served as Global Head of Alternatives at Franklin Templeton, an investment firm with over $1.5 trillion of assets under management. Throughout his three decade long tenure, he served in various roles at the company and previously served as President of Fiduciary Trust Company International. Prior to that, he worked for CB Commercial Holdings and Credit Suisse First Boston.
Bill has an A.B. in History from Harvard College and an MBA from the Tuck School of Business, Dartmouth College.
