John is the Founder & Managing Partner of ZIP, a New York-based firm backing early-stage companies driving innovation in global infrastructure.

Over his career, John has worked across a wide range of sectors – including energy, power, transportation, logistics, waste, water, and communications – and across the full asset lifecycle, from incubation and venture to buyouts, take-privates, carve-outs, and distressed situations.

He previously worked at Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners, where he served as the Americas Head of Transportation, and at Fortress Investment Group, focusing on greenfield energy development. Earlier in his career, he was an investment banker at Evercore Partners, advising on transactions in their infrastructure, technology, and restructuring groups.

John began his professional journey as an officer in the Republic of Korea Air Force, serving in a unit responsible for contingency logistics planning for wartime and national emergencies.

John’s passion for infrastructure began in childhood, growing up in a home where his father was a city planner and founder of an infrastructure advisory firm.

Anagh is a Managing Director at ZIP, where he is focused on early-stage and growth investing at the crossroads of innovation and infrastructure.

Prior to joining ZIP, he worked at Antin Infrastructure Partners, a leading private equity investor with €31B of AUM, where he covered a variety of sectors such as transportation, logistics, energy, power, and waste.

Anagh started his career at Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners. He has completed transactions in the rail transport, utility-scale solar & battery storage, and on-street parking sectors, and is also an active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).

Alex is a Managing Director at ZIP, where he is focused on early-stage and growth investing at the crossroads of innovation and infrastructure.

Prior to joining ZIP, he worked at Stonepeak, a leading infrastructure private equity investor with $76B of AUM, where he covered a wide range of sectors such as telecommunications, transportation, logistics, and energy. In addition, Alex was an initial member of the newly-created real estate strategy for the firm where he evaluated and completed transactions at the intersection of the built world and infrastructure.

Alex started his career as an investment banker at Goldman Sachs in its Industrials and M&A groups. He has completed transactions in the telecommunications, transportation & logistics, aerospace & defense, real estate, energy, and industrial sectors spanning venture to buyout stages.

Marlena contributes to ZIP’s investment activities, including market research, due diligence, and investment execution, while also supporting portfolio companies with operations and financial modeling. 

Marlena started her career at Nomura Greentech, a leading corporate finance advisory firm in energy transition and decarbonization sectors which has advised on $160B+ worth of transactions and helped investment funds raise $60B+ of capital. She has completed transactions in sustainable infrastructure and technology focused on distributed generation, utility-scale solar, and recycling. Additionally, she was lead analyst for the firm’s Renewable Energy Value Chain sector where she helped initiate the team’s hydrogen coverage efforts. During college, Marlena interned at the Energy Coordinating Agency (ECA), which helps bring energy conservation services to low-income households in the greater Philadelphia area.

Chris joined the Senior Advisory Board in 2023, and supports ZIP’s business development, deal structuring, and infrastructure finance activities. 

Chris is a Partner at Sullivan & Cromwell and co-heads the firm’s global infrastructure practice and its sovereign finance practice. A 35-year veteran of the firm, he has advised the world’s largest infrastructure investors, developers, strategics, pension funds and sovereign wealth funds on a broad range of PPP, project finance, M&A, and other structuring mandates. 

Ashika is Platform Director at ZIP, where she leads strategic partnerships and network engagement across the portfolio and the global infrastructure ecosystem.

Previously, Ashika led Special Projects at Collaborative Fund in New York, where she focused on partnerships for the firm’s climate-focused investment fund. Earlier in her career, she served as Chief of Staff at First Round Capital and before that, she worked with the Zuckerberg Institute to support early-stage innovators around the world.

Ben joined ZIP as a Venture Partner in 2025, and supports ZIP’s investing and portfolio activities in the mobility and logistics sectors.

Ben advises early-stage companies in the aviation and aerospace industries. He previously founded Rotabull, an aviation maintenance software company, and Seer Aerospace, which developed flight tracking software. He also worked as the CCO of Rotor, a manufacturer of heavy drones. He has invested in more than 30 early-stage companies, primarily related to aerospace technology. He is a private pilot and aircraft mechanic trainee. Earlier in his career, he was a consultant for space and aviation companies.

John joined ZIP as a Venture Partner in 2025, and supports ZIP’s investing and portfolio activities in the energy and power sectors.

John is the Chief Financial Officer for Nerdwallet Inc (NASDAQ: NRDS), where he oversees all FP&A, Corporate Finance, Accounting, Corporate Development, Data Analytics, and IT-related functions. John previously served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Divvy Homes, which was acquired in February 2025 by an affiliate of Brookfield Corporation. Prior to Divvy Homes, he was a Managing Director at Blackstone, focusing on private equity investments in the energy sector. He began his career with roles at TPG and Merrill Lynch.

Rob joined the Senior Advisory Board in 2023, and supports ZIP’s investing activities in the mobility and logistics sectors. 

Rob previously served as CFO of Union Pacific Corporation, among the largest railroad businesses in the U.S. Over his four-decade career with the company, he led many initiatives that helped the company earn the highest market capitalization of any North American transportation company.

Badar joined the Senior Advisory Board in 2023, and supports ZIP’s investing activities in the energy and power sectors. 

Badar is currently CEO of EVgo (NASDAQ: EVGO), a leader in EV charging. He previously served as President of National Grid USA, one of the largest investor-owned utilities in the world, and National Grid Ventures, where he oversaw the creation of National Grid Partners, the company’s VC and innovation arm.

Previously Badar served as CEO of Direct Energy, a subsidiary of Centrica, a global energy company. Earlier in his career, Badar worked at Deloitte, KPMG, and Jaguar Cars.

Kunal joined the Senior Advisory Board in 2025, and supports ZIP’s investing activities in the waste and logistics sectors, with a focus on the metals value chain. 

Kunal is Co-Founder and CEO of Valor, a company using an electrochemical process to refine critical minerals domestically. Previously, Kunal was Global Head of Recycling at Glencore, a leading metals & mining company. Throughout his tenure, he has served in various roles at the company including CEO of Glencore’s North American Sulfuric Acid business. Previously Kunal worked as a Consultant at ZS Associates.

Bill joined the Senior Advisory Board in 2023, and supports ZIP’s business development and firm governance matters. 

Bill previously served as Global Head of Alternatives at Franklin Templeton, an investment firm with over $1.5 trillion of assets under management. Throughout his three-decade-long tenure, he served in various roles at the company and previously served as President of Fiduciary Trust Company International. Prior to that, he worked for CB Commercial Holdings and Credit Suisse First Boston.
